The appointment of Bajrang Bagra as the new General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust marks a significant leadership change at a crucial time for the Ayodhya temple body. Bajrang Bagra brings corporate and organisational experience
Bajrang Bagra is currently the International General Secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, a position he assumed in February 2024 after being elected by the organisation’s governing bodies in Ayodhya.
A Chartered Accountant by profession, Bajrang Bagra belongs to Rajasthan’s Sikar district and has spent decades in senior leadership roles in the public sector. Before joining the VHP full-time, he served as the Chairman and Managing Director of National Aluminium Company Limited, popularly known as NALCO. He also held key positions as Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer at both NALCO and RITES, building a reputation for financial discipline and corporate governance.

Bajrang Bagra’s journey from NALCO to the VHP
After opting for voluntary retirement from NALCO, Bajrang Bagra dedicated himself to organisational work within the VHP. Over the years, he has served as Joint General Secretary and also led the Ekal Abhiyan as its president and chief executive.
Within the VHP, Bajrang Bagra has frequently represented the organisation on issues concerning temples, religious affairs, population policy and social outreach. His blend of administrative expertise and organisational experience has made him one of the prominent faces of the Hindu organisation.
