Nearly eight months after a nine-year-old Class 4 student allegedly died by suicide at a private school in Jaipur, her family has released CCTV footage from the classroom, claiming it supports their allegation that the child faced repeated bullying and did not receive timely help from teachers.
The girl allegedly jumped from the fourth floor of the school building on November 1 last year. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Family claims CCTV footage shows bullying before incident
According to the girl’s parents, the CCTV footage captures the events that unfolded inside the classroom shortly before the incident. They said the video shows their daughter entering the classroom, greeting one of her classmates and taking part in a dance activity before allegedly becoming the target of repeated bullying by other students.

The family believes the footage strengthens their long-standing claim that continuous bullying, coupled with the school’s alleged failure to intervene, played a role in the child’s death.
A video, said to be from the classroom and now widely circulating on social media, allegedly shows the girl approaching a teacher before leaving the classroom while appearing visibly distressed.
Parents demand action under Juvenile Justice Act
The parents have maintained that their daughter repeatedly sought help but did not receive the support they had expected from the school.
Calling for stricter legal action, the family reiterated its demand that all those found responsible be proceeded against under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
The girl’s parents also urged authorities to include abetment-related charges wherever legally warranted. They further alleged that the police investigation was influenced by the school management and failed to establish what exactly happened inside the classroom before the incident.
Chargesheet filed, Child Safety concerns raised
The release of the CCTV footage comes shortly after Rajasthan Police filed a chargesheet before a court in connection with the case.

Reacting to the developments, Sanyukt Abhibhavak Sangh state president Arvind Agrawal said the case has raised serious questions about accountability in schools. He called for strict enforcement of child safety norms, proper preservation of evidence and action against anyone found negligent.
The organisation’s state spokesperson, Abhishek Jain, said that the incident has exposed gaps in child protection systems in private schools. He stressed that schools should have anti-bullying policies, qualified counsellors, comprehensive CCTV surveillance and effective grievance redressal mechanisms to help prevent such tragedies.
