Alia Bhatt and Sharvari-starrer Alpha has posted a solid opening weekend at the box office, collecting ₹58.8 crore worldwide in its first three days despite mixed reviews and concerns over pre-release buzz.

The YRF Spy Universe thriller has also managed to make more lifetime earnings than the last theatrical release of Alia Bhatt called Jigra. It is a good beginning for the actor’s next theatrical release.

Alpha earns ₹58.8 crore worldwide in three days

Premiering on almost 9,000 screens in India, the film had made pre-bookings worth above ₹6 crores and collected ₹9.25 crore net in India during its opening day.

The film also did well outside the country, earning around $2 million in international markets, resulting in the collection of ₹58.8 crores net as per its third day earnings.

It should be noted here that Monday will be an important test for the film as far as its occupancy is concerned.

Alpha surpasses Jigra, outpaces Raazi and Gangubai

The opening weekend collection of Alpha has already surpassed the lifetime worldwide earnings of Alia Bhatt’s 2024 release Jigra, which grossed around ₹55 crore globally.

The film has also outperformed the opening weekend collections of two of Alia Bhatt’s biggest female-led successes — Raazi and Gangubai Kathiawadi.

Both Raazi and Gangubai Kathiawadi eventually crossed ₹150 crore globally, a benchmark that industry analysts believe Alpha will need to reach to recover its costs.
