Indian fashion designer Manish Malhotra has achieved a major milestone for Indian fashion by making his debut at Paris Haute Couture Week 2026, presenting his first-ever haute couture collection, Maa.

The designer said that her quiet encouragement remained the foundation of his success throughout his career, making Maa both a personal tribute and a celebration of motherhood.
How did Indian craftsmanship shine on the Paris runway?
The collection featured sculptural silhouettes, flowing drapes and intricate handwork that highlighted India’s traditional craftsmanship.
Designs incorporated zardozi embroidery, delicate threadwork and hand embellishments, combining centuries-old Indian artisanal techniques with contemporary haute couture tailoring.
The event took place on an impressive blood-red runway bathed in warm golden lights, complemented by a music score that was a mixture of Indian classical music and orchestral tunes.
