Speculation regarding the possibility of Alia Bhatt featuring in the next installment of Kalki 2898 AD is once again doing the rounds after Prabhas gave a shout out to the trailer of her upcoming movie Alpha.
Actor Prabhas posted the trailer of Alpha on his Instagram stories and hailed it as ‘amazing and promising’ before wishing Alia Bhatt, Yash Raj Films and the complete team of the film on its release.
“Alpha Trailer looks amazing and promising… wishing the best to Alia, YRF and the entire team for July 3rd,” wrote Prabhas.

Alia then reposted the same story from her Instagram page and thanked him, putting up a sun emoji, which some fans consider a hint regarding the role of Prabhas as Karna in Kalki series.

Soon after the exchange, social media users began speculating that Prabhas’ public support for Alpha could be linked to reports suggesting that Alia Bhatt may join the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD.
Several users on X claimed the interaction amounted to an unofficial confirmation of Alia’s casting, while others linked the sun emoji used by the actor to mythology-based symbolism associated with the film franchise.
The speculation follows months of reports surrounding the future cast of the sequel after uncertainty over the return of some existing characters.
No official confirmation on Alia’s casting
There has not been any official confirmation as far as the participation of Alia Bhatt in the sequel is concerned.
A few days back, there were rumors floating around that the actress had started shooting for the next project for the upcoming movie. But, a source connected to the movie had clarified the same to the Hindustan Times.

“There is no official clarity yet. Someone posted it on social media, and everyone else copied and pasted it as news. There’s definitely no clarity regarding her casting yet,” the spokesperson said.
The sources earlier had also hinted that Sai Pallavi was under consideration for a part in the sequel to the film. But, that wasn’t certain as of now.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD turned out to be one of the biggest movies from India in recent times and the franchise is also one of the most anticipated ones to come up with the sequel.
