A 26-year-old woman’s alleged suicide inside a hotel room in Hyderabad has sparked a detailed police investigation after she was found hanging hours after speaking to a friend over a video call. The victim, identified as Renuka, had reportedly checked into the hotel with a man she had been seeing for the past six months. Investigators are now piecing together the events leading to the Hyderabad hotel death while questioning the man who accompanied her to the hotel.

Hyderabad hotel death under police investigation
According to News 18, Renuka, a resident of Bolaram, checked into a hotel within the Langer Houz police station limits on Thursday with her alleged boyfriend, Farukh. Officers said the pair ordered food before Farukh left the hotel to attend a social function later that evening.
Investigators believe Renuka remained alone in the room after his departure. Around midnight, she reportedly initiated a video call with one of her close friends, who was celebrating a birthday the following day. During the conversation, she is said to have told the friend that she had a birthday gift before abruptly ending the call. A short while later, she allegedly died by suicide.
The Hyderabad hotel death came to light when hotel staff and police discovered her body during the early hours of Friday.

Boyfriend detained as investigators examine circumstances
According to News 18, police have detained Farukh for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials said he is a resident of Golconda, is married, and has three children. At this stage, investigators have not announced any criminal charges but are examining his statements along with evidence collected from the hotel.
Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage, hotel records, and digital communications to establish a clear timeline leading up to the Hyderabad hotel death. Officers said all angles are being examined before drawing any conclusions.
Personal background emerges as probe continues
According to News 18, police said Renuka had been married for eight years and was the mother of a seven-year-old child. She had reportedly been living separately from her husband and was employed at a restaurant and pub in Hyderabad.
The Hyderabad hotel death has once again highlighted concerns surrounding emotional distress and mental health, particularly among young adults facing personal challenges.
