The iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai was at the centre of a security scare after Navi Mumbai Police received a threatening phone call around midnight on Saturday.

According to news agency ANI, the caller claimed that the historic luxury hotel would be targeted in a blast. The message prompted an immediate response from law enforcement agencies.

“Navi Mumbai Police received a call at around 12 AM. The caller told police that the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai would be blown up,” ANI reported.

Soon after receiving the information, Navi Mumbai Police alerted Mumbai Police, which swiftly initiated security measures at the hotel.

Mumbai Police conduct detailed inspection

Following the alert, Mumbai Police carried out a thorough inspection of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel to ensure the safety of guests, staff and the premises.

Authorities have not reported the discovery of any suspicious object during the search. The focus has now shifted to identifying the person behind the threat call.

According to ANI, Mumbai Police are investigating who made the call and from where it originated. Officials are working to trace the caller and determine the circumstances surrounding the threat.

Similar bomb scare at Delhi’s Red Fort

The latest threat comes just a day after another bomb scare involving Delhi’s Red Fort.

According to PTI, Delhi Police stepped up security at the historic monument after receiving information about a bomb threat. Sources said the threat call was made to the Mumbai Police control room, with the caller claiming that the Red Fort would be blown up.

Mumbai Police immediately passed the information to the Delhi Police control room, which alerted local authorities. Security was tightened in and around the monument, and teams carried out an extensive search of the area.

After a detailed inspection, no suspicious object was found and the threat was declared a hoax, sources said.

Officials are continuing efforts to identify the caller and establish the motive behind issuing the fake bomb threat. The investigation into both incidents remains underway.
