A message delivered with unmistakable flourish
“The world is witnessing the capability and credibility of India’s defence platforms,” Modi said, adding, “During Operation Sindoor, you must have seen the explosions that struck terrorist hideouts. Their echoes were heard across the world. When such a decisive strike was carried out against terror camps, didn’t it make you feel proud?”
Mr Modi made the remarks while addressing the Indian community in Melbourne at Marvel Stadium. He described the operation as part of India’s response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
Melbourne meets Modi kicks off at Marvel Stadium- an absolutely enormous crowd, as predicted. Modi greeted with enormous swell of adulation, and a huge cheer for Albanese too. Desultory applause and a few boos for Jacinta Allan (though her speech was pretty well received) pic.twitter.com/IEFFpToZSG

Industry takes a confident bow
The Prime Minister also linked the operation to a broader pitch on India’s industrial and technological progress.
He said “Make in India” had evolved into a “global brand” over the past 12 years, pointing to the reach of Indian mobile phones, electronics, automobiles and pharmaceutical products.
He further said India had become the world’s second-largest 5G market and was working on indigenous 6G technology.
