After several days of steady rain triggered by a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, weather conditions have improved slightly across Kolkata. Rainfall has become less intense since Tuesday, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said similar weather is likely to continue on Wednesday.

Although the city is expected to remain under cloudy skies throughout the day, there is no forecast of heavy rainfall. Light to moderate showers may occur in isolated areas.

Rain likely to continue till Saturday

The weather department has forecast that the wet spell over North Bengal will continue from Thursday to Saturday. Continuous rainfall may increase the risk of landslides in vulnerable hilly areas during this period.
