Actor Rajesh Sharma is undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospital, Dhakuria, after suffering a serious infection that reportedly began with a suspected insect bite during a film shoot at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. The project stars Prabhas.

As the bite did not seem alarming at the time, he did not seek immediate medical attention and continued with his schedule.
Condition worsened hours later
Roughly six hours later, the actor developed intense pain in his right leg and started feeling unwell. Despite the discomfort, he boarded his flight back to Kolkata.

During the journey, his health deteriorated further. He developed a high fever, became increasingly restless, and his condition worsened. By the next day, he was admitted to Manipal Hospital, Dhakuria.
Family sources said that the infection spread rapidly from his toes to his knee, leading to the formation of large blisters. He is also battling persistent fever, breathlessness, and has experienced difficulty speaking. Reports added that his blood sugar level also rose sharply following the infection.
Doctors say it is too early to assess his condition
In the update, Sudipa Chatterjee mentioned that Dr. Avijit Bhattacharya said, “It is too early to make any definite assessment. Rajesh remains under close observation and is not yet out of danger.”
Doctors are closely monitoring his condition because of concerns that complications could lead to the formation of a blood clot. If such a clot travels to the lungs, it could become life-threatening. The medical team is carrying out all necessary investigations and treatment.
The family added that a fresh medical update will be shared after the hospital issues its official assessment.
