A 28-year-old man, who was recently released on bail in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act case, allegedly killed six people in Telangana’s Rangareddy district, including the minor complainant, her family members and his own wife and children, police said on Saturday.
According to police, the accused of the Telangana case, identified as Raj Kumar, was arrested on May 26 in connection with a POCSO case registered on May 16. He was recently granted bail on a personal bond of ₹20,000.

Police suspect the killings were carried out as an act of revenge.
How did the alleged murders unfold?
Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi said preliminary investigation suggests Kumar first killed his wife, Saritha (33), and their two sons, aged four and two, at their residence.
Police said he then went to the house of the 17-year-old complainant and allegedly attempted to take her away by force. When the girl’s 45-year-old mother and 65-year-old grandmother intervened, he allegedly stabbed both to death.

According to the commissioner, Kumar later took the teenager to an area near Akhil Sagar Lake on the outskirts of Daivalaguda, where he allegedly killed her by slitting her throat.
Police said there were signs of sexual assault on the victim. However, investigators are awaiting forensic evidence to determine whether she was sexually assaulted before the murder.

Police said the accused allegedly called his father after the murders, confessed to the killings and told him he intended to end his own life.
His father immediately alerted the police, following which officers rushed to the area and launched a search operation.

All six bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
