An explosion heard in eastern Tehran province on Saturday briefly raised concerns before Iranian authorities said it was linked to the controlled disposal of ammunition left over from the recent conflict.
According to Iranian state media, a local official said the blast resulted from a planned operation and posed no danger to the public. The official added that no untoward incident had taken place.

Araghchi reaches Oman for fresh discussions
The development comes as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Muscat for talks with Omani officials.
According to the semi-official Tasnim news agency, the discussions will focus on the Strait of Hormuz and maritime security. Iranian state news agency IRNA quoted Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei as saying the visit is “a continuation of the consultations that we started with Oman over the past one or two months”, with shipping safety expected to be a key topic.

The Strait of Hormuz has remained at the centre of regional tensions following attacks on commercial vessels and growing concerns over freedom of navigation.

Trump renews warning to Iran
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump issued another warning to Tehran, saying Washington would respond with overwhelming force if Iran attempted to assassinate a sitting US president.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote, “1000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat, pronounced in many corners of the Globe, to assassinate, or attempt to assassinate, the sitting President of the United States of America, in this case, ME!”

He added, “Orders have already been given, and the U.S. Military is ready, willing, and able, for a one year period of time, subject to extension, to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran.”

Regional tensions remain high
Elsewhere in the region, the Israeli military carried out overnight strikes near Nabatieh in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.
Commercial movement through the Strait of Hormuz also remained below normal levels. Ship-tracking company Windward said only six vessels passed through the strategic waterway during a 12-hour period between July 9 and 10, compared with the usual 18 to 22 ships recorded before the recent escalation.
