For now, the monsoon continues to remain active across West Bengal. Over the past few days, Kolkata and its surrounding areas have been witnessing rain almost every day, either in the early morning or throughout the night. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rain is likely to continue on Saturday in Kolkata as well as all districts of South Bengal. Heavy to very heavy rainfall has also been forecast for North Bengal.
The weather office said that a cyclonic circulation, along with the active monsoon trough, is creating favourable conditions for widespread rainfall across the state.

The sky over Kolkata remained partly cloudy since morning. Light to moderate rainfall is likely in the city on Saturday, with showers expected to continue on Sunday as well. Rainfall intensity may increase further next week.

On Saturday, Kolkata recorded a minimum temperature of 26.0°C, which is 0.9°C below normal, while the maximum temperature was 28.6°C, 4.2°C below normal.
Weather forecast for South Bengal
The IMD has predicted a high chance of rainfall across all districts of South Bengal on Saturday, with special weather alerts issued for several districts.
Heavy rainfall is expected in Purba Bardhaman, Nadia and Bankura, where an orange alert has been issued. Scattered heavy rain is also likely in Birbhum, Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, Howrah, and several other districts. Gusty winds may accompany the showers.
Rainfall across South Bengal is expected to increase further from next week.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been forecast across North Bengal.

The IMD has issued an orange alert for Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar due to the possibility of very heavy rainfall. Heavy rain warnings have also been issued for the remaining districts of North Bengal.
