India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana created history during the one-off Test against England at Lord’s by becoming the youngest woman to complete 300 international appearances. The milestone added another remarkable chapter to her illustrious career as she also starred with the bat on the opening day.
Smriti Mandhana: Youngest to reach the 300-match milestone
Mandhana reached the landmark at the age of 29 years and 357 days, surpassing South Africa’s Sune Luus, who had previously held the record after achieving the feat at 30 years and 163 days. Australia’s Ellyse Perry occupies the third spot, having reached 300 international appearances at 33 years and 65 days.

The achievement made the occasion even more memorable as it came at Lord’s, one of cricket’s most iconic venues, which is hosting its first-ever women’s Test. Ahead of the match, Mandhana described playing her 300th international at the ‘Home of Cricket’ as a special moment and thanked everyone who had supported her throughout her journey with the Indian team.
Mandhana made her international debut in 2013 and has since established herself as one of India’s finest batters across all three formats. Her consistency, elegant strokeplay and ability to perform on the biggest stages have earned her multiple ICC honours and several batting records.

The landmark match also saw Mandhana make a significant contribution with the bat. The left-handed opener played a fluent innings of 83 runs, giving India a solid start before the visitors were bowled out for 285 on the opening day.
