Noida International Airport in Jewar is expected to become one of India’s biggest aviation hubs, and plans are underway to ensure passengers can reach it more easily by rail. Although no train currently runs directly to the airport, two major railway projects have been proposed to provide seamless connectivity. These include the Ghaziabad-Jewar Namo Bharat corridor and the proposed Delhi-Varanasi-Siliguri bullet train corridor.
If these projects are completed as planned, travellers from Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and several other parts of northern and eastern India could get direct rail access to the airport, reducing dependence on road transport and cutting travel time.
Ghaziabad-Jewar Namo Bharat corridor reaches DPR stage
Among the two proposed projects, the Ghaziabad-Jewar Namo Bharat corridor has moved further ahead. According to NCRTC Managing Director Shalabh Goel, the 72.44-km corridor has moved into the Detailed Project Report (DPR) stage.

Planned as the fourth Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor, the route will connect Ghaziabad with Noida International Airport through Noida, Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region.

Metro connectivity to improve airport access
The proposed route has been designed to integrate with existing public transport networks.
Pari Chowk station is expected to provide an interchange with the Noida Metro Aqua Line, while passengers travelling from Delhi will be able to use the Delhi Metro Red Line and switch to the Namo Bharat corridor at Ghaziabad station.
The proposed YEIDA Central-Sector 21 station is also expected to improve connectivity to the upcoming Noida Film City.
Bullet train project also expected to serve the airport
The second proposal is the Delhi-Varanasi-Siliguri high-speed rail corridor, which has also been referred to in reports as the Delhi-Patna or Delhi-Varanasi bullet train project.

The proposed high-speed corridor is expected to include a stop at Noida International Airport. If implemented, passengers travelling from cities including Mathura, Agra, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Buxar, Ara, Patna, Begusarai, Katihar and Siliguri could reach the airport directly without first travelling into central Delhi.

Reports suggest the high-speed rail corridor could bring down the travel time between Delhi and Noida International Airport to around 21 minutes.
Current status
Of the two proposed rail links, only the Ghaziabad-Jewar Namo Bharat corridor has entered the DPR stage. Meanwhile, the Delhi-Varanasi-Siliguri bullet train project is still at the planning stage, with its final route, station locations and timeline yet to receive the necessary approvals.
