As per the official data of the Ministry of Railways, there are more than 160 Vande Bharat train services running in the country so far. The trains can run at a maximum speed of 160 kmph on appropriate tracks with actual speeds depending on the route conditions.
Railway officials have said that more routes will be added as per the demand of passengers and their operational feasibility and readiness of the infrastructure. The expansion is projected to increase connections between metropolitan cities, state capitals and key tourist destinations.
