Jude Bellingham’s outstanding performance against Norway took England to the World Cup semis. He scored twice as England came from behind to defeat Norway 2-1 in extra time in a dramatic FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final, sealing a place in the last four and causing Erling Haaland to play his last World Cup match in 2026.
Norway take early lead before Jude Bellingham restores parity
Norway made the stronger start and broke the deadlock through Andreas Schjelderup, who finished confidently to put the Scandinavian side ahead. In the first half, England struggled to find their rhythm but somehow drew level in first-half stoppage time when Jude Bellingham calmly finished from close range at 45+2 min. The goal was briefly checked by VAR before being awarded, ensuring the teams went into the break level.

The second half was fiercely contested, with both sides creating chances to edge ahead. Neither team could find a winner in normal time, forcing the contest into extra time.
England complete comeback to set up semi-final clash
England found the decisive goal early in extra time. Morgan Rogers forced a save from Norway goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland, but the rebound fell perfectly for Bellingham, who reacted quickest to score his second goal of the match and complete England’s comeback just three minutes after the added time.
