Commuters travelling on the Sealdah division are set to get more train options soon. Eastern Railway has announced a new AC local service on the Sealdah–Barasat route along with 11 new train services, five service extensions and two special trains across different suburban sections.
The new services will be introduced on a trial basis from July 6 and will run five days a week, from Monday to Friday.
Sealdah–Barasat AC Local: Timings and stoppages
The newly introduced AC local will operate in both directions between Sealdah and Barasat.
Sealdah to Barasat
Departure: 10:33 am
Arrival: 11:18 am
Barasat to Sealdah
Departure: 11:29 am
Arrival: 12:13 pm

According to Eastern Railway, the Sealdah division currently operates 10 AC local services with two AC rake sets.

New Barasat–Dum Dum Cantonment local to start
A new local train between Barasat and Dum Dum Cantonment will also be introduced. The service will leave Barasat at 4:38 pm.
Changes have also been made to improve services on the Hasnabad line during peak hours. Train No. 33319 Barrackpore–Hasnabad Local will now originate from Dum Dum Cantonment instead of Barrackpore and will depart at 5:24 pm.
Late-night relief for Krishnanagar line passengers
Passengers on the Sealdah–Krishnanagar route had long demanded a late-night train after 9 pm. Addressing that gap, Eastern Railway has extended the route of Train No. 31613 Sealdah–Ranaghat Local, which departs Sealdah at 10:08 pm. The train will now run up to Krishnanagar.
The return service has also been revised. Train No. 31614 Ranaghat–Sealdah Local will now begin its journey from Krishnanagar at 5:34 am, instead of starting from Ranaghat at 5:55 am.
Amdaghat gets improved rail connectivity
Rail connectivity in the Krishnanagar region is also being expanded.
Train No. 31585 Up Ranaghat–Shantipur–Krishnanagar Local will have its route extended to Amdaghat.
In addition, a new Amdaghat–Krishnanagar Local will start at 8:30 am, making it easier for passengers from Amdaghat to reach Krishnanagar and connect to trains bound for Sealdah and Shantipur.

More train services on Diamond Harbour and Lakshmikantapur routes
Eastern Railway has also announced additional train services for the Diamond Harbour and Lakshmikantapur sections.
