The makers of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups on Wednesday unveiled a new teaser introducing the female cast of the much-anticipated action drama, offering a glimpse into the dark and stylised world led by Yash.

The teaser, running for over a minute, introduces Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth as key figures in the film’s narrative.

Beginning with a disclaimer directed at children and senior citizens, the teaser shifts to a beachside sequence featuring Yash before unveiling the female characters one by one. Nayanthara appears riding a motorcycle while engaging in action sequences, while Kiara Advani’s first look highlights the film’s glamorous and sensual aesthetic.

Teaser hints at a dark and adult-themed narrative

The recently released teaser indicates that the movie Toxic would incorporate love, lust, violence, and betrayal. During the entire duration of the teaser, there is voiceover by a female character commenting on the deceptions involved in love.

“Love makes monsters of women. It’s a beautiful illusion if one understands the depth of its deception. And yet here we are,” says the narrator.

In the end of the teaser, there is a sequence where Yash holds a revolver in the mouth of a woman.

The makers have released this teaser on social media platform with the caption “Ladies and Ladies.”

In a statement issued earlier, the producers said the film’s release was being recalibrated to ensure a wider international rollout.

“There are films we make, and then there are films that remind us why we fell in love with cinema. Toxic has been one such journey,” the statement said.

Yash had also stated that the delay would help ensure the film reached global audiences with the scale and impact intended by the makers.
