The legal dispute surrounding Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy intensified on Tuesday after the Delhi High Court deferred hearing actor Salman Khan’s plea seeking to restrain the release of the film until July 6.

Following the court proceedings, the film’s producer, Amit Jani, claimed that the film would eventually be released across 8,000 cinema screens worldwide despite the ongoing legal challenge.

In a post on X, Amit Jani said Salman Khan had not received any relief from the Delhi High Court and reiterated his confidence in the film’s release.

“I had said earlier too that for the court, there is no star nor do they acknowledge any glamour… this will release in 8,000 cinema halls and simultaneously across the whole world,” he wrote.

Delhi High Court defers hearing on Salman Khan’s plea

During the hearing before Justice Jyoti Singh, counsel appearing for the producers informed the Delhi High Court that Kala Hiran had not yet been submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification for certification.

Responding to the court’s query regarding the film’s proposed release, the producers’ counsel clarified that no release had been scheduled and assured the court that the film would not be submitted to the censor board before the next hearing.

The court subsequently adjourned the matter until July 6 after noting that the producer’s rejoinder had not yet been placed on record.

Salman Khan alleges violation of personality rights

Salman Khan has approached the Delhi High Court on grounds that the movie Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy violates his personality rights.

As per the plea, there are references made to the actor in the promotion of the film, wherein one of the characters is seen wearing the blue bracelet that is associated with Salman Khan.

It has also been claimed by the actor that the movie is said to showcase the incidents related to the blackbuck poaching incident from 1998 along with his rivalries with the gangster, Lawrence Bishnoi.

The matter is next to be heard by the Delhi High Court on July 6.
