Businesses that depend on commercial cooking gas have received some relief as the price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by Rs 183 from July 1. The revised rates are applicable across major cities and are expected to benefit restaurants, hotels and other commercial establishments.
Following the latest revision, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has fallen to Rs 2,930 from Rs 3,113.50. However, there has been no change in the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder, per a report by News18.

Decline after months of hikes
The latest reduction comes after several rounds of price increases over the past few months. At the beginning of the year, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi was priced at Rs 1,691.50.
Prices started rising in March, when commercial LPG cylinders became costlier twice in the same month. The price was increased by Rs 28 on March 1 and by another Rs 114.50 on March 7.
The sharpest increase came in May when the cylinder price was raised by Rs 993, taking the Delhi rate to Rs 3,071.50. Another hike of Rs 42 followed on June 1, pushing the price to Rs 3,113.50.
With the latest reduction of Rs 183, the price has now eased to Rs 2,930, News18 reported.
Latest rates in major cities
After the revision, the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in New Delhi costs Rs 2,930. In Lucknow, the price has dropped from Rs 3,236 to Rs 3,052.50.
In Kolkata, the revised rate stands at Rs 3,081.50, down from Rs 3,255.50. In Patna, the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder will now be available for Rs 3,227, per News18 reports.
Consumers can check city-wise rates on the official websites of Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum.

Government revises fuel export duties
The government has also revised windfall taxes on fuel exports from July 1. The tax on diesel exports has been reduced from Rs 14 per litre to Rs 8.5 per litre, while the duty on aviation turbine fuel exports has been cut from Rs 12.5 per litre to Rs 7.5 per litre.
However, the windfall tax on petrol exports has been increased.
