England defeated India by four wickets in the second T20I at Old Trafford to level the five-match series 1-1. Jacob Bethell starred with an unbeaten 76, guiding the hosts to victory after India had posted a challenging total. The match also marked the international debut of 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who became India’s youngest-ever international cricketer.

India, after being asked to bat, scored 190/7 in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan led the scoring with 49, while Abhishek Sharma made 43 and captain Shreyas Iyer added 37. Tilak Varma provided the finishing touches with a quick cameo. Sam Curran was England’s best bowler, taking three wickets to keep India below the 200-run mark.
Sooryavanshi makes memorable debut
All eyes were on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who created history by becoming India’s youngest international player. The teenager looked confident from the start, hitting two sixes during his 14-run knock off nine balls.

His innings ended early when Will Jacks dismissed him, but the youngster showed enough promise on his debut.
Bethell seals England’s comeback
England’s chase began poorly as both openers were dismissed in the first over. Harry Brook responded with a brisk 39 before Jacob Bethell took charge of the innings.

Bethell found support from Tom Banton as the pair rebuilt the chase with a crucial partnership. The left-hander then shifted gears in the final overs, attacking India’s bowlers and especially targeting Ravi Bishnoi to put England in control.

Bethell remained unbeaten on 76 off 46 balls, hitting five fours and five sixes, as England reached 191/6 with one over to spare.
The victory helped England level the series at 1-1, setting up an exciting contest in the remaining three matches.
