An unbelievable incident has occurred at a Bengaluru daycare operating inside Capgemini’s HAL Campus, as viral social media videos allegedly depict toddlers being locked inside bathrooms and made to sit in washing machines. NDTV reported that children between two and three years of age were allegedly made to sit in the drum of a front-loading washing machine, had water sprayed into their mouths with a toilet jet spray, and were locked inside bathrooms. Following the incident, a police complaint, as well as a complaint with the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, was filed.

News18 reported that a case has been filed against five women caregivers at the centre and registered under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges of criminal intimidation.
Capgemini’s response
Capgemini reaffirmed its commitment to the well-being of its employees and their families. While the investigation continues, the company has temporarily closed the daycare facility as a precautionary measure.
“Capgemini’s foremost priority is the health, safety and well-being of its employees and their families. We are cooperating fully with the relevant authorities and assisting them in their efforts to establish the facts. As a precautionary measure, we are temporarily closing the Bengaluru on-campus daycare facility,” the company said in a statement, according to NDTV.
