Reality show Lock Upp 2 has got its first wildcard contestant. Television actor Shilpa Shinde entered the Netflix reality show on Sunday, promising to shake up the competition inside the house. Hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan, the second season has already delivered its share of drama, and Shilpa’s arrival is expected to intensify the game.
Shilpa Shinde makes dramatic wildcard entry
The makers unveiled Shilpa Shinde as the first wildcard contestant through a promotional video shared on social media on July 5.
In the clip, the actor confidently warns the contestants already inside the house, saying, “Suna hai sab log andar apni-apni gaddi jamae baithe hain. Lekin unhein keh do jab tak koi bahar ka andar kadam nahi rakhta, tab tak hi unka raaj chalta rahega.”
Her confident entry hints at new rivalries and changing equations among the contestants.
Podcast confession brought old controversy back into spotlight
Shilpa’s entry comes just days after she made headlines for revisiting the controversy surrounding her exit from Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai.

Speaking on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast, the actor admitted that the sexual harassment complaint she filed against the show’s producer during their 2016 legal dispute was false.
Explaining why she made that decision, Shilpa said, “At that time, I filed the complaint because I felt I had no other option left. All doors were closed on me.”
She added that she fully understood the seriousness of such allegations because of her legal background. The dispute was eventually settled out of court, after which she received her pending dues, and both parties agreed not to discuss the matter publicly.
Years later, Shilpa broke her silence, saying, “I am admitting this for the first time. The allegations I made were not true.”
She also revealed that despite their bitter fallout, she reunited professionally with the same producers 11 years later and now shares a cordial relationship with them.
Industry reacts to Shilpa’s admission
The confession triggered strong reactions across the entertainment industry.
Actors Hina Khan and Pooja Bedi were among those who criticised Shilpa’s remarks, arguing that such admissions could make it more difficult for genuine survivors of workplace harassment to be believed.

The competition has already witnessed its first eviction, with Shresta Iyer, sister of cricketer Shreyas Iyer, becoming the first contestant to leave the house.
