The Delhi government has withdrawn the work-from-home (WFH) arrangement for its employees on Wednesdays and Saturdays, citing an improvement in the geopolitical situation in West Asia, according to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has approved the decision, and a formal notification is expected to be issued later on Friday.

The move marks the end of a temporary fuel-conservation measure introduced in May amid concerns over supply disruptions and rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
Office timings revised for government employees
According to the CMO, office timings for employees of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) have been revised to 10 am to 6:30 pm.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), however, will continue with its existing office schedule of 8:30 am to 5 pm.
“The geopolitical situation has practically normalised,” the CMO said while announcing the withdrawal of the WFH arrangement.
WFH policy was introduced during West Asia crisis
This work-from-home scheme was instituted by the Delhi government in the month of May in the context of their public awareness campaign “Mera Bharat, Mera Yogdaan”, following a request made by PM Narendra Modi for saving fuel as the situation in West Asia worsened.
In this campaign, government employees could work from home twice a week, while the private sector was asked to follow the same wherever possible.

Along with this announcement, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had made an announcement of staggered working hours and a ban on official trips abroad for a year for all government officials.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had on May 10 called upon citizens to save petrol and diesel, stop going abroad for any non-essential reasons, and save foreign exchange at times of global uncertainty.
It was the aim of this campaign by the Delhi government that the citizenry should be encouraged to practice responsible consumption.
Due to the calming of the situation in West Asia, the Delhi government has now decided to resume normal work for its employees.
